I swear, being a Gen X mom means waking up every day and realizing the world has once again outpaced your glossary.

Just last week, my teenage daughter ran through the living room squealing and dancing away,

“Mom! It'ssssssss 6,7 6,7!!”

She said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

I blinked. “6 7 what? Some kind of TikTok score? New slang??”

back view of a woman wearing a white tshirt with bold red and blue graphic text that reads Champions 67 Freedom Sports. She is pointing to the design on her back with both thumbs. The setting is plain, neutral background.

She laughed (at me, obviously) and then showed me a picture of two T-shirts — one with a big, orange number 6, and the other with a 7, decorated in bats, pumpkins, and cobwebs.

Still confused, I asked, “So… what does 6 and 7 mean?”

A woman hiding behind plants in a black shirt with words Legendary 67 printed on it.

Apparently, it’s just a number pairing. No deeper meaning. No secret message. Just vibes. Halloween vibes. Or maybe it does mean something to the Gen Zs and they’re just keeping it to themselves.

Meanwhile, I — the mom who grew up with cassette tapes, MTVs (I miss them very much, anyone else?) and neon scrunchies — am here, furiously Googling “67 meaning Halloween” while trying to keep up with the digital download world of Etsy shops and Canva stickers.

But you know what? I kind of love it.

We might not understand the lingo…

But we sure know how to bring the spooky spirit.
